Fort Bragg Trivia

A U.S. Army fort 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Raleigh, North Carolina. It is a major training site for airborne units. It covers about 200 square miles (518 square kilometers) and serves roughly 158, 000 people, including about 40, 000 assigned active-duty soldiers. Established in 1918, the fort was named for Gen. Braxton Bragg, a Confederate artillery officer from North Carolina.

659th Maintenance Company , part of something bigger.

The 1st Corps Support Command, Fort Bragg is the second largest command, and the Army's only contingency support command that can provide essential combat service to support a single division or an entire corps of more than 90,000 Soldiers. The mission of the 1st COSCOM is to rapidly deploy and provide tactical and operational combat ser5vice support to all units in the XVIII Airborne Corps. By tailoring its attached active-duty and reserve-component units to the task 1st COSCOM can perform its combat mission: to provide food, fuel, transportation, clothing, equipment, maintence service and resupply to the corps and its maneuver division.
